Vertical boreholes

Where space is at a premium or for larger sized systems vertical boreholes are the preferred solution. As the drilling operation involved is a specialist job these tend to be more expensive than the horizontal option. However the ground conditions at depth are more reliable and higher performance can be achieved using this approach.

Boreholes are typically drilled to a depth of 80-100m but much deeper boreholes may be possible if space is very tight. In some circumstances boreholes can be drilled at an angle to avoid obstacles. Your installer can advise on the best option for your site.
